Measurement

The Measurement menu lets you enable a measuring tool for visitors. When it's on, desktop users can place points on your scene and read the horizontal, vertical and direct distances between them. The options differ slightly between 3D models and 2D maps.

Measurement is a Business feature. On other plans the toggle is disabled with a prompt to upgrade.

Measurement (on / off)

The master switch that turns the measuring tool on for visitors.

Model unit

Tells Kroscloud what real-world unit one unit of your model's space represents, so measurements are reported correctly. Choose a system — Metric (cm, m, km) or Imperial (in, ft, yd, mi) — then pick the exact unit from the dropdown.

GPS distance override

When enabled, distances are calculated from GPS coordinates instead of the model's own scale. This requires all three reference points to be set in the Georeference menu — until then the option is disabled.

2D maps

On a 2D map you first define a scale by calibrating against a known distance:

Visitors measure on desktop by clicking to drop measurement points; the tool then shows the distances between them.
